Official Invitation from ANCID Chairman - Stephen Mills

THIS IS AUSTRALIA. Australia today is a diverse and vibrant multi-cultural democratic society with the official language being English. Our currency is the Australian dollar. Agricultural activities have layed the foundation of the nation we are today.

The 2nd ICID Asian Regional Conference will be held in Echuca/Moama Victoria Australia located on the banks of Australia’s longest river the Murray. Echuca/Moama is known for having the largest fleet of paddlesteamers in Australia, working heritage port area, wine district and sporting activities such as golf, lawn bowls, water skiing and fishing. The area is also known for use of the land such as livestock farming (dairy herds, beef cattle, horses, sheep), horticulture (wheat, rice, tomatoes, olives), viticulture and aquaculture (yabbies, fish).

In its hey day the Port of Echuca had 240 boats through the port earning it the reputation of the busiest inland port in Australia. Produce such as wool, hay and grain made its way into the port via the river where is would then be moved to Melbourne via rail.

Boasting more days of sunshine than Queensland, Echuca has come a long way since those early days with a variety of restaurants, pubs, cafes, vineyards, a feast for all the senses that will make the flavours of Australia linger long after you've left our shores.
